Intake & Registration Specialist
Elyria, OH Elyria, OH Full-time Full-time From $15 an hour From $15 an hour The Intake & Registration Specialist is responsible for collecting the necessary information including demographics, insurance information, and the caller's presenting problems to properly schedule clients with appropriate providers.
Intake Specialists are also responsible for verifying insurance eligibility and benefits for clients.
Experience in mental health and substance use recovery is preferred.
Must be fully vaccinated or possess exemption documentation.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Answer all incoming calls on the Intake line.
Obtain relevant clinical, demographic, and insurance information.
Screen any inquiry calls to schedule new and returning clients.
Assess client needs to determine appropriate appointments to schedule with appropriate provider.
Assist callers by answering questions.
Process referrals.
Maintain and organize client related correspondence.
Return voicemails regularly throughout the day.
Keep current on referrals that come via facsimile and designated email.
Schedule clients for appointments.
Direct incoming calls to appropriate staff members.
Take and relay messages.
Verify insurance via electronic and telephonic means.
Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Possess broad knowledge of mental health and substance abuse terminology.
Clear understanding of insurance-related terminology and processes.
Ability to properly handle and document urgent calls.
Mastery of customer service skills and related procedures.
Detail oriented.
Strong critical thinker.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently as part of dynamic, fast paced work team.
Skilled in EMR, Microsoft Office including Excel and Teams.
Strong commitment to the clients we serve and the agency.
