Description Where the Chemistry Happens We are seeking a professional like you to manage and direct the resources of the Engineering Department at the Elyria site in support of the manufacture of process catalysts.
You will ensure that all technical processes and activities comply with BASF policies, regulations, and our values for safety, quality, environmental and financial stewardship.
The Engineering Manager interacts with various business/support organizations and supports key initiatives such as product/technology transfers, new product introductions, process optimization, and OpEx process improvements in fulfilling the mission of the business, site, and ensuring customer satisfaction and employee engagement.
Reporting to the Elyria Site Director, you will manage and provide leadership as a member of the Elyria Site Leadership Team.
You will promote continuous improvement of processes, lowered costs, and uptime availability.
You will exhibit strong consideration for safety, environmental stewardship and training and development.
As an Engineering and Technology Manager, you create chemistry by Direct the activities of the Engineering Department - coordinating activities with various internal and external stakeholders, confirming processes are technically effective and efficient.
Set department goals and objectives, monitor performance against those objectives and coach/manage performance as you provide direction to a team of Production, Process, Project, and Controls Engineers.
Involve the manufacturing organization to ensure a positive, trusting, and open culture.
Your demonstrated success in increasingly responsible positions will be useful as you lead the capital strategy and spending for the site and support technology transfers and product trials.
Effectively interface with internal/external stakeholders to meet business objectives and your strong organizational skills will be a valued asset as you coordinate the utilization of resources commensurate with site priorities and budgeted funding.
Leaning on your commitment to excellence and compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring that training and succession planning needs have been met and that safety is given the highest priority in all departments, allowing the organization to achieve superior performance standards.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent Your formula for success Bachelor s degree in chemical engineering as well as your extensive professional experience as a leader within a chemical/petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment.
15 years of experience in increasingly responsible positions.
Strong leadership, communicational and strong interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail, compliance, and problem-solving skills.

The competitive Pay Range for this role is $150,000 - $175,000.
Actual pay will be determine based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factor permitted by law.
