Job Description:
This is not an Entry-Level position.
This requires at least five years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military/defense manufacturing with proficiency and using various tools, apps.
This is a 6-month contract position with an option to extend.
The quality engineer/inspector will perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies.
Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications using AS9102 and ANSI Y14.
5 - GD&T or equivalent standard The quality engineer/inspector will be required to report inspection accept/reject information directly to the customer.
Will be Validating Page 3 results on FAI using AS9102 and GD&T Reporting to Verify Project Leader Responsible for walking the assembly build process and comparing the actual process to the build paper and the build paper to the drawing.
They all need to match.
Discrepancies need to be documented and reported in each individual FAI RAIL.
There is a substantial hidden factory and abundance of tribal knowledge, the QE must be adept at rooting this out, document it and report it in each individual FAI RAIL.
Responsible for assisting in the creation of the FAI plan (Entering requirements on the FAI in Net-Inspect) Must be adept at dealing with suppliers in correcting FAIs and obtaining missing FAIs - must have good communication skills to do this Must be adept at breaking down barriers and solving problems with Customer support team (Engineering, M.
E.
, Inspection, Production, Purchasing, etc.
) Will be responsible for validating results on the FAI.
Will be attending daily standup meetings and being prepared to discuss status of their activities Requirements:
Candidate must be a US Citizen.
Candidate must have between a minimum of 3 - 5 years Aerospace experience with Inspection/First Article Inspection (FAI) Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years' experience with Electric, Hydraulic and Pneumatic fluid transfer Valves (Primarily Fuel) Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in Assembly operations preferably in Aerospace Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years' experience experience in creating and/or approving manufacturing planning.
Candidate must have a minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience experience creating FAIs utilizing the AS9102 Standard Candidate must have experience in Process Improvement Activities.
Candidate must have experience with Net-Inspect, Solumina (Parker Drawing storage/retrieval system) and Enovia (Planning system) is a huge plus.
Candidate must have 5 years of experience performing in-process and final inspections on complex machined parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies.
Candidate must have 5 years of experience performing inspections to engineering requirements as specified in ANSI 14.
5 - Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard.
Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in reading/interpreting engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs).
Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years' experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers.
Candidate must 5 years' experience performing/drafting First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with the AS9102 standard and knowledge is required.
Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years' experience performing inspections in aerospace or military/defense manufacturing with proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Candidate should be computer savvy for this assignment.
