As a School Nurse, you will apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior to help students succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally.
Partnering with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals; you will work to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.
? Responsibilities Include:
Overseeing the immediate physical health and safety of staff and students; coordinating outside care as needed.
Stocking and maintaining first aid supplies.
Ensuring all disaster supplies are kept current and being ready and able to assist in a crisis situation.
Ensuring that the application of minor treatment is available and accessible.
Monitoring and recording all student illnesses; reporting on frequency, source, duration and chart trends.
Documenting all contracts and services in the student's chart in accordance with customary medical notations, including immunizations.
Assisting students with diapering, using appropriate materials and disposing properly.
Providing physician or counselor information regarding student's medication and observed behavior at school.
Documenting and informing appropriate staff when the health or welfare of students is threatened or other crisis.
Imparting medical care and medications to students properly within the scope of practice as set forth by the state of licensure and practice.
Providing in-service training and new hire orientation as related to the medical element of the program.
Attending meetings and trainings as required or needed.
Assisting when asked to maintain good relationships with the community and local agencies.
Performing other duties as assigned.
? Qualifications Required:
Bachelors degree in nursing or related fieldCurrently licensed in the state of practice as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician or Licensed Vocational NurseAbility to carry out trained Crises Intervention Training techniquesAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Prior experience working with students in a special education and/or classroom setting preferred.
Advanced oral and written communication, instruction, curriculum, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, decision making and organizational skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
