POSITION SUMMARY

The Large Balance Account Representative will be responsible for the timely resolution of a portfolio of accounts normally containing 1,800 to 2,500 accounts. The portfolio will typically have a receivable value in the $6,000,000 to $8,000,000 range. The main goals of this position are to provide excellence in customer service while securing prompt and full payment from third party payers including Medicare and Medicaid.Position utilizes extensive healthcare experience to provide exceptional service to patients, internal and external customers and third party payers. Determines and estimates patient liabilities, conducts financial screening and patient interviews. Negotiates discounts and payment arrangements in accordance with hospital policy. This position works in a team environment where goals are measured by global success of the team. Promotes the concept of patient satisfaction by encouraging proficiency and pride in the team agenda.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent.


Basic computer skills including typing/keyboarding and ability to proficiently use a variety of software applications such as Microsoft Office.

Exhibits proficient written, verbal and math skills.

Proven ability to work independently.

Excellent attitude toward customer service and public relations.

Background in Patient Accounts with Billing or Insurance Follow-up.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
