Diesel Generator Mechanic


The primary duties of this position are to trouble shoot maintain and repair a variety of powered generation equipment.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities)
The successful candidate must possess strong mechanical background and troubleshooting skills;
Complete knowledge of turbine driven generators including both theory and applied mechanical operation; minimum 4 years hands-on experience with repair, troubleshooting and start-up of all
Candidate must possess working knowledge of theories of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, computer systems and thermodynamics.
Understanding of Power generation equipment and ability to come up to speed quickly on relevant testing
Performing Electrical / Mechanical tests on a variety of power generation equipment
Experience with gages, accelerometers, data acquisition systems and diagnostic vibration testing
Create site specific reports
Interact with clients in a confident professional manner
Travel to Domestic locations as needed to support customer commitments on short notice
We require a minimum of 4 years of verifiable experience in Diesel Engine trouble shooting & repair.
Post high school or other training/education in the Diesel Engine repair field is preferred.
Those with military service that have experience in the Power Generation fields are strongly encouraged to apply.
You must have your own tools and be available for overtime as needed.
Ideal fits are Air Force Power Production, Army Prime Power, Army or Marine Corps Generator Technicians, Aviation Support and Engineman, Machinist Mate Auxiliary and those with experience with Jenbacher, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
