Looking for a beautiful unhit 64 coupe with a great frame and a 365 horse engine? Read on.
Looking for a great C2 Corvette with side pipes, a strong drivetrain, and an excellent body to drive that doesn't look like every other 64 Vette? Read on.
Below is the description we had written the first time we owned this car and when we got the opportunity to get it back (thanks Buck!) in a package of cars we were very excited to have it back.
In the time our friend owned this car he spent a small fortune installing a complete (and I do mean complete, including new seat frames, door panels, headliner, dash, seat covers, foams, carpet and on and on all from the best- Al Knoch) interior to replace the purple custom interior that was from the 70's.
Recently we had the privilege to purchase this 64 Vette Coupe out of long-term family ownership where the car was loved for a long time- many years.
To speak to how this car was taken care of let's first say that the custom paint was applied in the '70s and looks like it was done a couple of years ago.
The custom lacquer has held up extremely well.
Obviously, time has led to some checking and imperfections but she's still a stunner.
The even more remarkable part is the unhit, very straight virgin body and frame- we have had a corvette expert view this car and he said the body and frame were amazing.
Wow.
Timewarp.
In looking at motivation for this Vette let's start with a 1964 327/365 horse motor with a 4112559 vin and an RE suffix- that's right 365 horsepower.
The boys butt dyno's think it's making a good bit more.
The trans (M20) is the same vin as the engine so it's a matched set but not the ones that were originally in this car.
We have been told, and there is some evidence, that this was originally a fuelie car.
(The core support is a fuelie support and is a bit rusty but is serviceable, also has the three holes on the inner fender for the air cleaner and the long-term owner believes it was a fuel car).
We will leave that discussion to you Corvette experts out there.
When you drive this car it's even more impressive- quite the performer.
The original VIN and Trim tag are present and the car was Silver Blue over a black interior.
Chrome is very nice.
The car was, and is, an absolute labor of love.
You would be hard-pressed to find a straighter 64 coupe.
Wanna change it? That's up to you, we love it for exactly what it is- a piece of our history Drive it, show it, keep it in a bubble and polish it as a prized possession, the choice is yours once you make it yours.
We stand behind our thoughts on this car by offering our travel expenses guarantee- come see the car and if we have materially misrepresented its condition, we will gladly pay half of your travel expenses up to $500.
00- this offer had been in place since we sold our first classic and we haven't paid the money yet.
We pride ourselves on having good cars and representing them properly.
